This book is now on my wishlist.
What's cooking in chemistry? How leading chemists succeed in the kitchen...
In the last post, I talked about the garbage cans having writing in six languages. Well, here's a picture
The yard trimmings waste bin. Chinese, Punjabi, Vietnamese, Spanish, French.
As I said in the last post, the largest "visible minorities" (visible minorities in quotes, because Caucasians are actually the minority in this city, because non-native Canadians make up 52% of the population) are the Chinese from Hong Kong/mainland China, followed by Sikhs (Punjabis), then Filipinos, then Vietnamese.
So I don't know why this has Spanish on it, and not Tagalog.
Unfortunately, there is virtually no one here that speaks French.... The only time you see French in daily life is on product packaging, because it is Canadian law to have it.
They probably put it on these garbage cans just as proof that we are in Canada. Thankfully, the Olympics will be FULLY bilingual, because it is federal law to have all national events in both languages.
The garbage can.
